Downtown Disney Targets the Cool Crowd
By: Vivian Letran, Los Angeles Times
"We wanted Downtown Disney to be a high-energy place to go in Orange County. We're not only about family entertainment. The new venues are not meant to be counterpoint to Disney's branding. It's meant to be complementary to it" - Mike Berry, Senior VP, Downtown Disney
From New Orleanian Jazz Kitchen ®, the aroma of grilled fish wafts from the two-story red and yellow building accented by balconies, archways, artistic ironwork and a courtyard. During the day, strolling musicians might accompany a Creole meal. After 8 p.m., nightlife kicks in inside the 120-seat Flambeaux Room, which will feature local musicians playing New Orleans jazz.

"Ralph Brennan's California debut comes in a 15,000 square-foot, two-story edifice that includes the quick-service Creole Cafè, serving Po-Boys, gumbo, beignets and bread pudding, and the main table-service operation around an open courtyard. Upstairs, customers can make reservations and dine in more posh settings."

Disney hopes to spice things up with a trio of nightspots for live music, all within walking distance of one another. Among them: Jazz Kitchen ®, a jazz club-restaurant cooked up by the family that's responsible for historic Commander's Palace in New Orleans.
Much more to do in Anaheim: Downtown Disney, between Disneyland and the California Adventure, is a collection of shops and restaurants, including House of Blues, Jazz Kitchen ®and ESPN Zone.
Downtown Disney Gives O.C. an Uptown Feeling
By: Barry Koltnow
Jazz Kitchen ®- The New Orleans restaurateur brought in 10 managers and three chefs from his three Louisiana restaurants to open this place, which includes outside iron railings similar to French Quarter nightspots, and a formal dining room upstairs designed to look like a Victorian house. Live entertainment seven nights a week in the downstairs jazz club.
